Ray is a native of Alamance County and has been practicing law over 25 years. He is a graduate of Elon College (Elon University) and the Norman Adrian Wiggins School of Law at Campbell University. Since 1997 Ray has concentrated his practice in the areas of estate planning, asset protection for long term care needs and estate administration. Ray is a member of the North Carolina Bar Association and Alamance County Bar Association and the Elder Law Section and Estate Planning Section of the North Carolina Bar Association.
Community interests revolve around elder issues and he currently serves on the board of directors and is past chairman of the United Church Homes & Services, Inc. of Newton, North Carolina, a church-related, non-profit company providing senior housing and services throughout North Carolina and Suffolk, Virginia, and serves on the Participant Advisory Council for Carolina Senior Care, a PACE program sponsored by United Church Homes and Services, Inc.
Ray is a lifelong member of First Reformed United Church of Christ and serves on the governing board and is a past chairman. He is married to Amy Harris Deal and has three daughters.
